Christmas time is near! So, I thought I’d whip up and post a few Christmas recipes to accommodate this beautiful time of the year in the days leading up to Christmas. Please subscribe to keep up with the latest content. Now let’s begin with my experience with Red Velvet. So, the first time I tasted red velvet was when I was really young and I was at my aunt’s house. I instantly fell in love with it. The colour. The taste. Everything. Topped with vanilla buttercream and you get the perfect marriage of flavours. I had always been a curious child in my years at primary school so I questioned my aunt. “How did you get it so red?” “It’s so soft.” Her response was “It’s a secret.” Now that must’ve been because of my age because after all these years of gathering during the winter holidays and eating the red velvet cake for dessert that my aunt would bring, I finally got the recipe.
